Oppo A16 is the sequel to last year’s Oppo A15 — an entry-level phone with a slim and sleek design. The upcoming phone has already been certified and benchmarked; a reliable source now gives the first previews of the A16. Here’s everything you need to know.
Courtesy of the renowned phone leaker, Evan Blass, also known as @evleaks, the high-quality press renders of the Oppo A16 surfaced on Twitter. The images show the A16 wearing four different colors: Maya blue, space blue, copper, and frost white.
Oppo adopted another recycled design for this budget phone, featuring a notched screen and squarish camera plate. Oppo A16 has a tear-shaped notch stretching into its display and a sunburst finish on the back. A standard thumbprint reader is now etched into the phone’s frame and pulls double duty as the power button.
The camera island of the new oppo mobile 2021 contains three lenses and an LED flash. Based on an educated guess, we’re looking at a wide, macro, and depth camera array. Their exact specifications are a mystery for now, but if the Oppo A15 is any guide, it’s a 13MP+2MP+2MP configuration.
Oppo A16 has also been benchmarked on the Geekbench platform. It’s listed under the model name, ‘CPH2269.’ The score sheet reveals that the MediaTek Helio G35 is at the heart of the device. Last year, Oppo offered up to 3GB of memory, but the A16 goes up to 4GB.
It’s powered by a 5000 mAh battery and the latest ColorOS 11, based on Android 11. The battery size is a step up from the 4230 mAh featured in the Oppo A15, but it still slow-charges over 10W.
