OPPO A17 Gets an All-clear from FCC Database; Expect an Official Debut Soon

Rumors about a new Oppo device have been roaming the tech blogs for a while now. The device in question is OPPO A16's successor, the A17. By all accounts, the brand is seeking clearance for A17-debut from multiple certification platforms as a part of its customary pre-debut arrangements. Usually, these efforts mean that a launch is coming.

Previously, OPPO A17 got an all-clear from BIS & GCF; now, the FCC (Federal Communications Commission database) has signed off the device for its US-based debut. The FCC listing unveils several interesting facts about the phone. Let's take a look.

It popped up in the FCC database under model number CPH2477. The document also mentions the operating system, battery capacity, charging standard, and connectivity inside Oppo's incoming handset A17.

The battery capacity on A17 is a respectable 5000mAh, but the charging speeds max out at 10W (below average). There is no Fast charge support here. The latest OPPO A mobile runs on the Android 12 x ColorOS 12.1 operating system right out of the box.

The A17 comes with 4G support which entails a 4G-enabled processor inside. The exact model of the processor is yet to be confirmed. The listing does show the upgraded 5GHz WLAN/WiFi support over the last-gen A16's 2.4GHz WiFi.

The devices in A17's price spectrum rarely see specs upgrade over their precursors. So for perspective, keep in mind the feature list of last year's OPPO A16.

OPPO A16 from last year came with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, Helio G35 SoC with PowerVR GE8320 GPU, an IPS screen sized at 6.5-inches, a triple camera setup on the back, an 8MP selfie shooter upfront, and a fingerprint scanner on the side for security. Due to dollar price hikes, the A17 can cost more than last year's A16.
