Chinese smartphone maker’s Oppo A2 Pro has received approval from the country’s regulatory authority, TENAA. It paves the way for a potential launch as early as September 15. Courtesy of the tipster Digital Chat Station, who first discovered the listing, we now know that the newcomer will feature a substantial 5,000mAh battery.
According to the TENAA certification page, the A2 Pro will bring a 6.7-inch OLED display offering a 1080p resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The device will sport slightly curved edges and a single punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera.
The back of the phone will feature a circular camera island, housing a triple camera setup. Although details remain scarce at the moment, we anticipate an in-depth analysis of the device’s specifications before the oncoming release.
In addition to these details, Digital Chat Station disclosed that the A2 Pro will offer a variant with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. It is a notable upgrade in Oppo's new A model, especially for a mid-range phone in the Oppo A family.
For context, the Oppo A1 Pro, officialized in November 2022, featured a Snapdragon 695 chipset and supported 67W fast charging. Interestingly, the A1 series never got to explore markets outside of China, and it also remains to be seen if the A2 Pro will debut in international markets.
While the Oppo A2 Pro is shaping up as a robust mid-range offering, its specifications and global availability are yet to be officially confirmed. With the rumored launch date just around the corner, potential buyers won’t have to wait much longer to find out.
