The Oppo A38, which made its first appearance last week, has now quietly made its official debut on the company's website in the United Arab Emirates. As anticipated, the smartphone has a 50MP primary camera and utilizes a basic 4G-enabled chipset despite the availability of 5G networks in all major urban areas across the UAE.

The Oppo A38 boasts a 6.56-inch display with HD+ resolution and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate, matched by a responsive 90Hz touch sampling rate. The front camera, nestled in a subtle waterdrop notch, features a 5MP sensor.

On the rear, users will find two cameras, though the 50MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and autofocus steals the show; meanwhile, the second camera serves as an assistant with a 2MP depth sensor. Both sensors live inside individual rings on a pill-shaped platform.

Peep under the hood to find the Mediatek Helio G85 platform powering the Oppo A38 while accommodating 4 GB of RAM and a spacious 128 GB of storage, expandable by up to 1 TB via the micro SD slot. The chipset in the latest Oppo budget mobile also hosts a MALI G52-MC2 integrated GPU, perfect for basic gaming.

Fueling the device is a robust 5,000 mAh battery that supports 33W SuperVOOC charging followed by a secondary PD (9V/1.5A) input. Oppo's AE division has assured users of 2.5 years of software updates, offering longevity to this budget-friendly smartphone.

Additional device features include dual-SIM, a 3.5 mm audio jack, the latest Bluetooth 5.3 technology, and support for all primary GNSS standards. The Oppo A38 arrives in two elegant finishes – Black and Gold. While pricing and availability details remain undisclosed, the smartphone offers an intriguing proposition for potential buyers.
