Oppo A53 Might be Coming to Pakistan Soon; Features a 90Hz Display and Snapdragon 460

Oppo A53 — introduced earlier this week — has already gone on pre-sale in Indonesia. It has a mid-range feature set and a budget-friendly price tag. Oppo released the device in India yesterday, suggesting that it should be landing in Pakistan next if you go by Oppo’s typical release calendar.

The A53 builds on the design of its predecessor AKA the Oppo A52, down to the color palette. Its 6.5” HD+ display is surrounded by wide bezels and hole-punched in the corner.

Bigger bezels of A53 by Oppo translate into an underwhelming 89.2% screen-to-body ratio. And while it doesn’t produce the FHD+ resolution that the A52 did, The Chinese tech manufacturer has bumped up the screen refresh rate up to 90Hz.

Flip the Oppo A53 over to find a coal-black camera island. And inside it, three cameras arranged on top of each other — a 13MP main camera, a 2MP depth-assist sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. Selfies are captured with a 16MP AI camera. The shell itself has an eye-catching ‘3D Wave’ design available in Fairy White, Electric Black, and Fancy Blue that'll be a great entry into the Oppo price list. A physical fingerprint scanner rests in the middle of the back.

Expect decent performance out of the newly-minted Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 chipset of A53 and 5,000 mAh battery, recharged with Oppo's 18W Fast Charging. It comes in 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB memory and storage variants — expandable up to 256GB with a microSD card.

To further optimize the hardware, the Oppo A53 uses next-gen RAM + Anti-lag software for more seamless gaming. The dual stereo speakers tweaked with Dirac deliver 3D audio.

From internals to design, the A53 isn’t exactly an upgrade over its still-recent predecessor — a ‘Lite’ version of the A52 makes more sense. The phone boots to the ColorOS 7.2 out of the box (built on Android 10) and starts from $175 or about 29,000 PKR for the base version and $210 or about 35,000 Pakistani for the 128GB edition.
