Following a brief promotional campaign, the Oppo A55 5G made its global debut as Oppo A53s 5G. It’s an entry-level Oppo, featuring basic hardware and uninspired design. Let’s take a look at it.
First things first, Oppo A53s 5G has the 7nm Dimensity 700 at its heart — the most affordable in MediaTek’s line of 5G chips. It’s hooked up to a 5000 mAh battery without any support for fast charging.
The ColorOS 11, based on Android11, runs on the S variant of Oppo A53 straight out of the box. Plus, you get 6GB/8GB of memory for smooth multitasking and 128GB of expandable UFS 2.2 storage.
Let’s move to the phone’s build now. Oppo A53s features a curved plastic shell, finished in Crystal Blue and Ink Black shades. It weighs roughly 190g and is 8.4mm thick.
Three cameras are laid out inside the squarish housing on the back. You’ll find a side-facing thumbprint reader merged with the power button. Out on the front, there’s an intrusive notch bleeding into the display. A mono-firing speaker and a reliable 3.5mm headphone jack are also part of the Oppo A53s at an affordable Oppo mobile price.
As for the specifics, the screen is an underwhelming 6.52” IPS LCD, capped at 720P of resolution and 480 nits of peak brightness. There’s an 8MP camera encased inside the front notch. Oppo A53s 5G’s three-camera system features a 13MP wide lens and two 2MP portrait and macro sensors.
Oppo A53s 5G is expected to starts from Rs. 31,000 when / if it manages to officially arrive in the Pakistani market.
