OPPO has another mid-range device in their pipeline, ready to deploy. Dubbed OPPO A78 5G, the new model has been doing certification runs for the past few weeks, pointing to its imminently nearing launch. The listings have also confirmed that unlike the predecessor A77, the new phone will also launch in the non-Chinese markets.
A credible report by Appuals claims that OPPO A78 5G will become official on January 15th. Hand-in-hand with the launch details, the publication gave away the phone's storage variants, camera specifications, SoC, and pricing details. Have a look.
The publication confirms various details in a live snap of the A78 5G's about section. It boasts a 6.6-inch display and backs the MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor. The SoC is a mid-range performer built on a 7nm process with two fast ARM Cortex-A76 (2.2GHz) cores and six Cortex-A55 cores (2GHz).
The image reveals A78 with model number CPH2495. Users will find the OPPO 5G new model with two cameras at the back, one with a 50MP sensor and the other with a 2MP sensor for depth or macro. At the front, it will have an 8MP camera. A 5,000mAh battery with SuperVOOC fast charging is likely to be included. Its home screen will layer Android 13 OS with ColorOS 13 UI skin.
One of its first listings on a certification database revealed that it measures 163.8mm in length and 75.04mm in width. The Bluetooth SIG database revealed the A78 with BT 5.3 tech. Similarly, A78 5G’s confirmed with 5G bands N5 / N7 / N38/ N44 / N66, and dual-band (2.4GHz - 5GHz) Wi-Fi. A78's expected price is $224 (~51,000 PKR). The A76 4G was the last A7x phone to arrive in Pakistan, OPPO A76 4G's price starts from Rs. 47,000.
