Oppo A80 is Now Official with Dimensity 6300, AI Features, and 45W Charging

Cheap 5G phones are in trend. Every one or two weeks, we see a new one pop up. Oppo A80 is the latest we saw yesterday. There's nothing special to it except maybe the AI features. Count those out, and you have a typical low-cost 5G phone recipe of an IPS and Dimensity 6300.

It may even be a rebrand of the Oppo A3 Pro, identical to the tee, inside and out. Here, we see an IPS 6.67" panel and a dot punch hole. You'll be disappointed to see only 720p resolution. But they balance it with a 120Hz refresh rate. About 1000 nits bright panel and Panda Glass are a bonus.

We see the phone cut back on cameras as well. That bi-lens setup can only do 50 MP shots. And a 2 MP sensor on the side helps with depth. Selfies might be a letdown because the sensor size is only 8 MP. From the back or the front, it cannot do more than 1080p recording.

It can get away with cheaper specs because 5G is the end focus of this build. They install a Dimensity 6300 chip here in the Oppo 5G latest smartphone. Plus, it has an NPU that can process AI. Hence, their advertised AI-Eraser and AI link Boost. Everything comes together with Color OS 14 (Android 14).

Oppo A80 has the backup of a 5100mAh cell. And it can do 45W top-ups. We know that it has IP54 and Splash touch. 8 + 256 GB seems to be the only trim it has, and for the AUD 369 (~PKR 69,000) price, the Oppo A80 can justify all that it brings.
