We recently got to see the OPPO A97 5G listed on the China Telecom website flaunting a Deep Sea Blue rear panel. The listing wasn’t able to show the design in its entirety but revealed some major internals. Now, courtesy of Evan Blass, the handset’s comprehensive renders have been circulating in additional Cherry Blossom and Quiet Night Black frosted finishes.
The new 5G successor of the OPPO A96 features a flat edge design with a glossy and slim frame. The left rim on the A97 5G houses the SIM slot and volume rocker, while the right side keeps the power button-cum-fingerprint sensor. There’s a 3.5mm audio jack, speaker grid, and Type-C port on the bottom side.
We have recently covered the OPPO A9 5G in detail, so here’s a short look over the spec sheet. According to the previous listings, the handset adorns a 48 MP primary lens and a 2 MP depth sensor. A 1080p 6.5" IPS panel blankets the front adjusting the 8 MP selfie snapper in a waterdrop notch.
The battery cell supports a 5,000 mAh capacity with fast charging. The OPPO A new model A97 5G will allegedly arrive in 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB internal memory variants, while the in-built processor is still unconfirmed. Some rumors suggest a MediaTek Dimensity SoC will power the device.
China Telecom has associated the A97 5G with a price tag of 2,299 Yuan, which roughly translates to PKR 70,000 ($350). There’s no officially confirmed launch date from OPPO, but the handset could debut anytime soon, considering the evolving leaks on daily basis. the handset might also hit the Pakistani market after the global launch.
