A new contender has emerged in the global smartphone market, monikered as the Oppo A98 5G. It took the stage in Malaysia for its initial debut confirming specifications and features. Though, its pricing details are yet to unwrap. Here’s what the phone packs inside.
Oppo A98 5G is a powerhouse mounted by a Snapdragon 695 chip, 8GB of LPDDR4X internal memory, and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Although the memory is ample to keep multiple apps running in the background, the phone still sports expandable memory by up to 8GB, making multitasking a breeze.
Towards the front, Oppo A98 5G has an expansive 6.72-inch FHD+ IPS LCD screen that is nothing short of impressive. With HDR10+ and 600 nits brightness access, the phone offers a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a 360Hz sampling rate for blazing-fast touch response.
Under the dead pixel cutout in the screen, users will find a 32-megapixel selfie shooter, one of the crowning features of the latest 5G OPPO mobile. In the pill-shaped module towards the back, A98 has a primary 64-megapixel sensor, complemented by a 2Meg depth of field lens and a 2MP macro lens.
The phone carries OPPO's signature Glow design, featuring finger-smudge and scratch-resistant material as the coating. It has an 8.2mm profile and weighs 192 grams, offering a sleek and stylish build comparable to most modern flagships.
Essential features on the phone include a 5000mAh battery that supports fast wired charging at 67W. Additionally, it features a side-facing fingerprint reader, adding an extra layer of security to the device. Though unannounced, the price of Oppo A98 5G is to be ~1,399 Malaysian Ringgit (~PKR 89,000), as confirmed by multiple online vendors, commencing its retail with a pre-order window.
