Oppo has its very own foldable line of devices but after the last Find N3 release in 2023, the company went silent for one and a half years, until they teased a new folding phone about two weeks ago. The rumor mill is keeping track of the new foldable model that’s about to launch under the nametag Oppo Find N5.
Oppo has been teasing the device with the only emphasis being its no-crease folding display. Plus, there’s a trailer on the company’s offical website, showing its slim build and White/Black colors. No specs or hardware details have been shown so far. We crossed paths with a leak today that shared some live images of the Find N5 Fold.
The leak on Weibo shows the Find N5 captured from almost all angles. You can see in the images how incredibly thin this device is when unfolded. It couldn’t be more obvious that Oppo’s priority is better ergonomics, while Samsung is putting all its efforts into better utility of a foldable device.
Both approaches have their merits, but Oppo might have a winner this time with its Find N5. These images show a nice brushed aluminium frame with the power button on one side and the alert slider on the other. A type C and a speaker grille lay at the bottom with, of course, antenna bars wrapped all around the sides of the latest Oppo foldable mobile.
The phone’s hinge was also shown in one of the captures, but it’s hard to read how this mechanism works. We also found a retail box image here for the Find N5. This phone may even come with an official protective case that snaps onto the back and covers the hinge as well.
One of the shots has the display turned on, which exposes the exact camera position on the folding front side. The selfie camera is positioned at the top right corner. It’s also true that the crease is almost invisible. Oppo deserves the bragging right for how well it managed the crease, but it may still be visible at certain angles.
If we were to compare the Oppo Find N5 Fold with some others in the market, it’s design is certainly a winner, but we still don’t know how it functions, what are its features, or how good it is at multitasking. These are the questions Oppo will answer on February 20 at the Find N5’s official Launch Event.
