Oppo's year-long cycle of smartphone releases may continue again with their latest edition Oppo Reno 12 in the making. It's essentially a Reno 11 Pro, with the same processor and specs packed in a slightly different chassis. Here's an overview of its rumored specs and mockups floating around the internet.
According to DCS, the Reno 12 has the same MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset as its predecessor. It is a year-old flagship CPU with 4nm fabrication and 3.1 GHz max clocking frequency. The new Oppo Reno sibling hooks up to a 5000 mAh cell tailored with 80W Fast charging support.
The display may round up to a 6.7-inch view sitting on an AMOLED panel. The screen's resolution will likely peak at a high 1.5k resolution and might deliver a 120Hz screen refresh rate. The selfie camera housing will be punched on top of the display.
OPPO Reno 12 is a slight upgrade from the previous generation, but the brand will likely try to justify it with a slightly improved camera layout. You'll see three large sensors with the Oppo flagship new mobile, one of which is 50MP primary while the others will showcase 50MP telephoto and 8MP ultrawide.
You can also expect the Reno 12 to drop with 16GB memory and an underscoring 512GB storage, as entailed by the leaker’s post. Save for some internals: the OPPO Reno 12 seems familiar — a slab with chamfered edges and matte texture on the rear plate.
All specs round up to a semi-flagship performer. You will enter Android 14-based ColorOS 14 from the get-go. It may have also secured some great features like an IP65 rating, a constant depth micro curvature screen, stereo speakers, and an in-display fingerprint reader.
