Oppo Reno 12 Series Leaked; Unveils MediaTek Processors with High-End Features

Oppo's oncoming members to the Reno smartphone lineup, the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro, are ensuing leaks just a month after the Reno 11 series’ international launch. It’s no surprise since the Reno category refreshes every six months. An alleged internal document has provided insights into the specifications of these next-in-line devices.


According to the leaked details, the Reno 12 may feature a MediaTek processor labeled MTK 24M, though the exact branding and title remain undisclosed. The device will likely offer 12GB of RAM and storage options ranging up to 256 GB. 

On the other hand, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro might feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 (MTK DX-2) processor, accompanied by 12GB of RAM and storage options extending to 256GB and 512GB. Both handsets may showcase 6.7-inch FHD OLED displays, 120Hz refresh rates, and curved edges on all sides of their chassis.


As for the camera stats, the Oppo Reno 12 series will bear a 50MP leading sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) alongside an 8MP ultra-wide and another 50MP 2x optical zoom camera. For selfies, the latest Oppo flagship mobiles might incorporate a 50MP lens with autofocus support.


Slight variations in specifications may exist between the standard and Pro models, but the essentials will remain the same. Specs in the leak include a 5000mAh battery with 67W charging support and an uncommon IP65 rating for water and dust resistance.

While the alleged launch timeframe for the Reno 12 series is in June 2024, details regarding pricing are yet to be confirmed. Nevertheless, the leak hints at a $499 (~PKR 139,000) price tag for the Reno 12 and an estimated $799 (~PKR 223,000) for the Oppo Reno 12 Pro, offering consumers hope for cost-effective flagships.
