Oppo Reno 12F Unveiled Overseas; New Design, 50MP Camera, and Smooth 120Hz OLED

Oppo Reno 12F has the appearance we had never hoped for (coming from Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro). We knew it was near. But we never realized a design facelift was in its cards. Well, It’s official now. And they’ve deployed it in Thailand already. There’s much more we learned than the overhauled looks.

You see, this phone ranks low in the series hierarchy. That nudged it down price-wise. But obviously, at the expense of performance. So, the Dimensity 6300 engine is what they went with for the Reno 12 F. And that’s the cheapest 2024 SoC with 5G modem the companies can get.

But at least they never cheaped out on RAM and ROM for this one. 12 GB RAM is optimal. 256 GB storage is OK too. Slot in a micro SD and expand room if 256 GB isn’t enough. And we can’t complain about its camera also. That backplate you see with a giant circle extrusion. There’s a 50 MP lens in it.

Those other two sensors of the Oppo upcoming Reno mobile are an 8 MP ultrawide and a macro that’s only 2 MP resolution. They have used a 6.67” OLED for it at 120Hz. Resolutions are 1080p, and the brightness is up to 1200 nits. AGC DT-Star2 may be a new class of protection they assigned it. Then there’s your typical 32 MP selfie cam in the slot up top.

And that leaves us with power, software, and charging. A 5000 mAh battery is all it has. Charging speed 45W isn’t half bad, and then there’s the IP64 rating. Android 14 inside it is the latest OS you can get. We hear it has plunged deep into AI, filled with features of all sorts. All that’s left to know is the price. But we couldn’t find it anywhere.
