OPPO Reno 7 Pro and Reno 7 Leaked and Certified; Reportedly Launching in November

Since January this year, Oppo has released two successive generations of the Oppo Reno series — the Reno 5 and the Oppo Reno 6. But the phone maker is already working on yet another line of Reno phones. Early leaks for the Reno 7 and Reno 7 Pro have emerged online.

First, let’s look at the Reno 7 that secured a product certification from a Chinese telecommunication authority. The Oppo Reno 7 Pro was leaked on Weibo. The phone is listed on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (CMIIT) under the model number “PFDM00.”

The WHY LAB account on the Chinese social media website Weibo published a few specs of this upcoming Reno phone. The Reno 7 has a triple-camera system featuring a 50MP Sony-made IMX766 lens.

While the Reno 6 runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 900, the new Oppo mobile phone 2021 Reno 7 might be the first smartphone to adopt the Dimensity 920, announced in August.

Also, because it’s a mild refresh of its predecessor, we suspect the Reno 7 inherits its other specs from the Reno 6. The WHY LAB leaker predicts the debut of the Reno 7 series in November.

Another phone leaker, Digital Chat Station, published the detailed specifications of the Reno 7 Pro cameras. Like the Oppo Reno 6 Pro, the Reno 7 Pro also has the Sony IMX766 behind its wide lens. The 50MP sensor bins 4 pixels into a superpixel the size of 2.0 µm. Oppo might be co-engineering these cameras with the optics firm Kodak.
