A few days ago we found out that OPPO may be preparing to rebadge the Reno 8 Pro Plus for its international needs. Shortly after, that same model appeared on a benchmarking database with a different chipset than what's available in China. According to new rumors, this "new" device would be the OPPO Reno 8 Pro as a variant intended for the global market.
OPPO Reno 8 Pro was launched with Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor in the Chinese mainland. whereas, the global variant of the Reno 8 Pro was spotted with MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max on Geekbench, which is also used in the Pro Plus model in China. In other words, the global "Pro" variant would be nothing less than a rebranded Chinese Reno 8 Pro Plus Edition.
The Reno 8 Pro listing carries the model number CPH2357. Baked into it, is a processor clocked at 2.85GHz, which points to the ‘Global’ variant of the platform mentioned above since the standard SD 7 gen 1 in the Chinese variant operates at 2.4 GHz.
The famous phone leaker claims exactly this, based on the higher core frequency. At any rate, the processor on the Reno 8 Pro global has bags 898 points on the single-core test and a whopping 3,555 points on the multi-threading test.
Information on the manufacturer's plans regarding this new release is still scarce. In addition to the Dimensity 8100 processor, we only know that the Oppo new model will have 12 GB of RAM and the Android 12 operating system.
If the rumors prove correct, the OPPO Reno 8 Pro in the global configuration could have the same 6.7-inch AMOLED Full HD+ screen with 120 Hz refresh rate, 50 MP main camera, and 4,500 mAh battery as offered by the Reno 8 Pro Plus in the Chinese market.
