With their third refresh of the Reno series this year, Oppo is introducing a new premium Pro+ edition. The new Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ is slated for its debut on December 24. Oppo has been teasing the phone on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo. The latest official promos give us a peek at the phone's highlights.
The Oppo Reno 5 Pro Plus design is quite familiar, you’re looking at a matte sandstone finish on textured glass. Oppo's not-so-subtle branding goes on the right and the camera cluster on the left. Four cameras live inside the housing.
Based on the promo, the Reno5 Pro+ has a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor. Confirming the camera details that its TENNA certification had revealed. A 16MP ultra-wide and a 13MP telephoto lens join the primary camera. A 2MP macro camera is present too.
The Oppo New model 2020 display features curved edges. And it has a hole-punch carved into it. Reportedly, it's a 6.5" AMOLED screen with a 1080P resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 is at the heart of the Reno5 Pro+. 65W SuperVOOC charging (featured across the board in the Reno5 lineup) powers it. Multi-tasking is handled by 8GB/12GB of memory. And the storage comes in 128GB/256GB options. Oppo ships it with the latest Android11-based ColorOS 11.
Since it's a new edition, whether or not it'll be available globally is anyone's guess. The same goes for pricing. But WhatMobile expects the Reno 5 Pro+ to start from Rs. 109,000.
