After a short hiatus from new releases, POCO is gearing up to launch a brand new entry-level phone. The upcoming Xiaomi POCO C31 is a sequel to POCO C3 that came out last year — an instance of an odd jump in the naming scheme. Official teasers are out.
The POCO C31 is debuting in India first on September 30 & may soon be released to Other countries. Naturally, the launch event (if there is one) will be a virtual affair. The motion poster published on POCO’s social media features the front preview of the phone.
We’re looking at a tall screen featuring slim-ish bezels and a notch bleeding into it. You can make out a pale blue finish on the phone’s shell. Unless Xiaomi's new model for 2021 is offering an upgrade, the POCO C31 will deliver a 720P resolution at a standard 60Hz refresh rate. Note that the budget competition from Xiaomi has stepped up the industry-standard this year with high resolution and refresh rates.
POCO also teased the C31 battery life. Although the capacity isn’t specified, we’re promised a durable battery with above-average charging cycles. The cell inside the C31 won’t start degrading before 2.5 years of daily use.
To recall the POCO C3 specs, it featured the Helio G35, a 5000 mAh battery, and 64GB of internal storage. The 13MP+2MP+2MP camera array is typical of a cheap Android. No official word on the pricing yet, but speculation puts the starting price of the POCO C31 at PKR 18,400.
