Xiaomi POCO X3 Pro 4G Leak Uncovers the Launch Timeline; Meet this Year's First POCO

A "Pro" edition of the Company’s top-selling Poco X3 NFC model has been in the works for some time. POCO itself is still keeping the phone under wraps, but we’ve heard rumored specifications and seen product certifications. Now a new leak gives us the launch timeline for the X3 Pro.

Courtesy of the phone leaker Debayan Roy, the leak reports that the Xiaomi POCO X3 Pro is making its debut in either the first or second week of March. Mr. Roy has a proven track record for POCO devices. Last year, he accurately predicted the launch date and pricing of the POCO X3.

The exact specifications are few and far between but, through a series of certifications and leaks, we’ve learned that the POCO X3 runs on Snapdragon 855. Note that the chip was listed under the model name ‘SM8150’. This title belongs not to the Snapdragon 855 but the 855 series that also includes the Snapdragon 855+.

Some rumors had suggested the possibility of this plus variant powering the POCO X3 Pro, but seeing that the 855+ is 5G and the POCO X3 is not, we lean towards the standard Snapdragon 855 from 2018. The X3 Pro features a 48MP quad-camera array: wide, ultrawide, macro, and depth sensors. Lastly, it boots to the MIUI 12 out of the box at an affordable Xiaomi mobile price.

POCO X3 Pro has cleared certifications from Thailand’s NBTC, India’s BIS, Singapore’s IMDA, America’s FCC, and Malaysia’s SIRIM. So once it debuts in India, the phone will head to the global market, likely including Pakistan.
