Realme's latest international release — the Realme 7 series — featured the standard Realme 7 and it ‘Pro’ edition. The only variant missing was a budget model. Now the smartphone family is being rounded off with just that. Enter the Realme 7i which is slated for a Global launch on September 17, as per Realme’s official channels.
Beyond the Realme 7i release calendar, the brand is keeping the details under wraps. However, a live shot of an alleged Realme 7i banner and mockups reveal the phone’s design and its core specifications. The design language remains familiar, so we’ll start there.
Much like its more expensive brothers, the 7i has a lengthened boxy camera island, a hole-punch display, and a glossy, polished back.
The screen shares its dimensions, as well as the 90Hz refresh rate with the base variant, but only reaches an HD+ resolution. And instead of the MediaTek Helio G95 processor, the Realme 7i has the still-recent Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 mobile platform at its heart — which isn’t designed for gaming like the G95 but should deliver robust performance and efficiency nonetheless.
There’s an identical 5,000 mAh battery powering this Realme hardware, augmented with 18W SuperDart Charging — not as powerful as the 30W solution we find in the Realme 7, but typical of a supposed budget device. It has 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage onboard. The fingerprint reader has been moved from the side to the back.
The entire camera ensemble is carried over from the Realme 7 — a four-camera array featuring a 64MP standard camera, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a pair of 2MP lenses. Your selfies are captured with a 16MP front camera. It comes in green and blue colorways, expected to start from anywhere from Rs. 28,000 to 33,000.
