Realme 7i launched on schedule yesterday in Indonesia, rounding off the newest Realme 7 series. A string of leaks leading up to the event had already left little to the imagination but now we have the pricing details too. Here’s what this newest entry from Realme offers.

It comes only six months after the Realme 6i but with a slightly higher price tag. Featuring the same 6.5” IPS HD+ display as its predecessor, except for a smoother 90Hz refresh rate, the 7i has a generic, recycled design.

Instead of a notch, the Realme 7i front camera now lives inside a hole punch in the corner. The back is plastic with a glossy finish, presenting a duotone gradient — available in Aurora Green and Polar Blue shades.

Instead of the compact, capsule-shaped housing, this Realme 7iiteration has a boxy camera bump, next to a capacitive fingerprint scanner. Four lenses are arranged inside the island —  three of them carried over from the last generation. The resolution on the main camera has been upped to 64MP, completed by an 8MP wide-angle lens, a macro sensor, and a space-filler B&W camera. The selfie camera has a 16MP lens behind it.

The 5,000 mAh battery, along with its supporting 18W fast charging is inherited from the 6i. But the MediaTek Helio G80 processor is replaced with a current-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset on 7i by Realme and the base memory has been bumped up to 8GB + 128GB — pointing to improved performance, at least on paper.

The software experience is delivered by the latest realmeUI (built on Android 10). Realme 7i is expected to start from Rs. 34,999  but the company hasn’t shared the release calendar for the Pakistani market yet.
