Realme is always pushing the limits for what entry-level smartphones can do. The brand has undoubtedly made its presence felt in that particular bracket, and the newly-announced Realme C3 proves it once again.
A MediaTek Helio G70 chipset with a 12 nm octa-core processor and Mali-G52 MC2 GPU drives the Realme C3, coupled with 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage configurations. The MediaTek chipset is built with a focus on gaming so you can expect some impressive performance from this device at an affordable Realme price.
The 2 GB + 32 GB edition doesn't seem all that promising, and a bit out of place in 2020 even for a budget smartphone. You get support for dual-sim connectivity and microSD card expansion up to 256 GB, thanks to its 3-card slot.
The C3 features a 6.5" display that touts a mini-drop notch and an 89.8% screen-to-body ratio. The colors offered are Frozen Blue and Blazing Red. You also get a dual-camera on the back featuring a 12-megapixel primary lens and a 2-megapixel portrait shooter. For shooting selfies, you get an underwhelming 5-megapixel front camera. The model isn't designed with a focus on photography, but the optics hardware is augmented with AI algorithms.
Unfortunately, the phone lops off the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone does lose its appeal for its lack of fingerprint protection. The hardware is powered by a massive 5,000 mAh battery with support for 10W fast-charging.
