Realme was born out of Oppo, one of the largest Chinese smartphone manufacturers. The brand continues to move in the right direction and has just unveiled the Realme GT 5G in China. A premium flagship device at a competitive price and probably one of the cheapest smartphones to feature the mightiest Snapdragon 888 processor.
The Realme GT features a 6.43-inch SuperAMOLED display panel (by Samsung) with a 2400 × 1080 pixels resolution and 20: 9 aspect ratio. The screen has a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a brightness capacity of up to 1,200 nits. The touch detection operates at 360 Hz, and the screen supports HDR10 + wide tone color reproduction. The fingerprint reader is under the display, and the reported screen-to-body ratio is 91.7 percent.
The GT 5G packs Qualcomm’s high-end Snapdragon 888 under the hood. Comes with 8/12GBs of LPDDR5 RAM and 128/256GBs of UFS 3.1 storage. The internal cooling system is made of stainless steel and copper. A special feature of the software is also the separate GT mode for the gamers, which further provides optimal performance.
At the back, the Realme GT 5G has three cameras: a 64MP main with Sony IMX582 sensor and f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP 119-degree ultra-wide-angle with f/2.3 aperture, and a 2-megapixel macro camera (no optical zoom). The front punch-hole camera resolution is 16MP with an aperture size of f/2.5.
Other features of the Realme GT include stereo speakers, dual SIM card slots, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6 and 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, USB-C, and a 3.5mm jack. In addition, the audio playback supports Dolby Atmos surround sound and Hi-Res Audio certification.
The battery has a capacity of 4,500mAh supported by a 65w Super Dart quick charge, charging the battery from zero to full in 35 minutes. you get Android 11 out of the box with Realme UI 2.0 on top. A vibrant two-color, black-and-yellow faux leather edition is also available, in addition to the other color options with a glass back.
In China, Realme GT 5G is priced at 2,799 yuan or about 68,000 PKR (without taxes) for the 8/128 GB edition and 3,299 yuan, just over 80,000 Pak rupees for the 12 + 256 GB. The leather variant, however, is only available in the more expensive 12GB variant. No word yet on if/when the handset will make it to Pakistan but in case it does, we'll be the first ones to let you know.
