Realme GT 7 will be launched on April 23rd. Official teasers confirm the smartphone’s debut in China at 4 pm local time and reveal the CPU configuration for the device. All the rumors we heard about the device were true. Realme GT 7 will bring the latest flagship chip from MediaTek.
Realme confirms that it will be using MediaTek’s newest Dimensity 9400+ SoC for the vanilla GT 7, which should perform almost on par with the Realme GT 7 Pro’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. MediaTek has fabricated this new processor with the help of TSMC’s 3nm node.
If you were reminded of MTK’s previous Dimensity 9400 SoC, the D9400+ is an overclocked version of the original chip, which peaks at 3.7 GHz clock instead of 3.63 GHz. The performance upgrade is minimal, but it does make 9400+ the second-best chipset in the market for the Android platform.
Other details confirmed by Realme include the GT 7’s flat 144Hz OLED panel. It seems the display for the Realme latest 5G model is sourced through BOE and uses the company’s proprietary Eye-Care tech, which we assume is meant to represent a high PWM dimming range.
The phone not only has a flagship-grade screen but also an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, which uses soundwaves to accurately scan thumb impressions. It works great even at low brightness, and more importantly, it’s way faster than optical fingerprint readers.
IP69/IP68 rating is quickly becoming a standard among the Chinese flagship devices, and Realme GT 7 isn’t any different. It is certified waterproof and dust-resistant. The battery inside this new handset is 7000mAh+, which is already a record-breaking number in the segment it’s retailing at.
The power source is installed into an 8.3 mm-thin chassis, which makes this device even more remarkable. Realme GT 7 will bring an “Ice Skin” graphene cooling solution to manage the heat from its SoC. The company wants to debut the GT 7 in China first on April 23rd, and they’ve already revealed its price to be 3000 Yuan or ~PKR 115,000.
