It’s official; Realme’s finest handset of 2024 has come out of the shadows, the unveiling of Realme GT 7 Pro has wrapped up in China, and we finally get to see Snapdragon 8 Elite in action on a device that’s priced ~$500. That’s right, this is the conversion of the base GT 7 Pro cost set in China.
It’s a phone built around a Samsung Eco 2 OLED plus screen, and they say it is 52% more efficient with energy use than the traditional panels. There’s also HDR and Dolby Vision on this very bright 2000nit visor, and we see a 120% DCI-P3 gamut with some color saturation.
Snapdragon 8 Elite runs hot, so Realme gave this phone a 11480mm² dual VC cooling chamber, and it supposedly gets you the strongest heat dissipation in real-life workloads. This SoC is 45% better on the CPU side and 40% faster on GPU performance against the old 8 Gen 3.
This chip is also quite power-hungry, so a bigger 6500mAh cell on Realme's GT new model makes a ton of sense. They didn’t add more bulk to the device at the expense of a bigger battery either, as it’s only 8.55 mm thick. 120W fast charging here can help fill up this battery to about 50% in 14 minutes.
There’s also a 3X periscope telephoto on GT 7 Pro with a 50 MP sensor inside it, and digitally, it will zoom 120X helped by AI super-resolution. Then, we see a 50 MP main lens and an 8 MP ultrawide sensor on that same camera island. Even submerged in the water, this phone can snap photos if you turn on Underwater mode.
They used Realm UI 6.0 for it, and it’s a firmware built around Android 15, so it gets you all the latest Google functions and more. They even promised three major Android updates for it. Realme GT 7 Pro in its 12/256 GB trim is ¥3,599 (~PKR 140,000), and the highest-end 16/1 TB build costs ¥4,799 (~PKR 187,000).
