The company’s flagship GT 7 Pro debuted in November last year, and the future Realme GT 8 Pro is expected to do the same in 2025. Although the updated model is about nine months away, the rumor mill is already providing a host of preliminary details for this device. This is what we know about the newcomer so far.
Smart Pikachu gave an inside scoop on this phone at Weibo. The prolific leaker says that the Realme GT 8 Pro will be a flagship kind with a flat AMOLED display at 2k WQHD+ resolution, and this device could use an Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that’s far more accurate and secure than the optical one we usually find on modern phones.
If the leaker is right, Realme’s GT 8 Pro could also debut as one of the first devices with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC this year. The company will continue its streak just like it did with the Realme GT 7 Pro. Also, Smart Pikachu tipped the battery capacity for the new model.
It seems the Realme GT 8 Pro will bring a 7000mAh+ battery at its helm, but it did raise alarms about the phone’s thickness in the future. If Realme continues to utilize the same Si/C Li-Ion tech as before, there’s a chance the Realme 5G latest model will be a light and thin model. Of course, it could also hike the phone’s price.
This leak also mentions a periscope camera, which could turn this device into an all-around flagship handset, if true. Realme GT 7 Pro is already a beast, and the upgrades tipped here could push the GT lineup to the next level.
Realme GT 7 Pro is a phone built around the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which runs hot at around 4.32GHz clock speed. Realme gave this phone the biggest cooling chamber we’ve seen on a smartphone: a 11480mm² VC in split configuration. Realme GT 7 Pro’s display is a Samsung Eco 2 OLED plus with 1.5k resolution and 120Hz.
There’s 16GB RAM, 120W fast charging, and a 6500mAh battery inside this model. You can expect the Realme GT 8 Pro to push these numbers over the top in terms of battery, raw performance, and camera specifications. We still have a couple of details missing, but they should emerge in time before the device is released. So stay tuned for further updates.
