Realme GT Explorer Master Edition made its global debut this week in Europe and India. Realme also showcased the Realme GT Master and their first laptop at the event, the Realme Book. The Explorer Master Edition is a premium mid-range phone, featuring 5G Qualcomm silicon and a novel, new design. We’ll review its features and pricing.

The Realme GT Explorer Master Edition sports a faux leather back (which BBK brands call Vegan leather), designed after a typical suitcase. It’s painted in desaturated Voyager Grey and Suitcase Apricot finishes. If you don’t favor the uncharacteristic and bold suitcase look, you can pick from the more traditional, holographic Aurora color.

The screen on the Realme GT Explorer Master Edition is one of the best-in-the-bracket. We’re looking at a 6.55” superAMOLED Samsung display that delivers a high contrast ratio, 1000 nits of peak brightness, and a wide color gamut. It refreshes at 120Hz, samples for touches at a highly-responsive 480Hz, and houses an in-display fingerprint scanner. The panel is curved along the edges and supports HDR10+ content.

Four cameras, a 50MP OIS-assisted wide lens, 16MP ultra-wide lens, and 2MP macro lens, are clustered around the back. One 32MP front camera is embedded in the Explorer Master screen.

It’s all powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, based on a 7nm fabrication process. The hardware runs on a 4500 mAh battery and 65W SuperDART charging. To ensure maximum performance, Realme has integrated a vapor cooling chamber into the Explorer Master Edition that keeps it from throttling.

You get NFC support for cardless payments, Hi-Res dual stereo speakers, 12GB of memory and up to 128GB/256GB of flash UFS storage. Realme UI 2, based on Android11, runs on the phone out of the box. Realme GT Explorer Master Edition starts from $499 (~ Rs. 82,000.)
