Realme GT2 Pro Camera Details Teased; First Realme Phone with OIS and Microscope Cameras

We’re only days away from the official launch of the Realme GT2 Pro. And the pre-launch campaign is now heating up. The latest teasers give us insight into the phone’s camera systems. Realme’s cameras have never been competitive. But the GT2 Pro is their first flagship and a shot at renewing that reputation.

The GT2 Pro rocks a triple-camera cluster: a 50MP wide-angle lens with OIS assistance, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP tele-macro lens. The Chinese TENNA authority has also certified the Realme GT2 Pro with these specs.

The optical image stabilization should make for shake-free videos and excellent night mode shots. But the big highlight is the ultra-wide camera lens on the Realme GT2 Pro. At 150 degrees, the 50MP camera has the widest field-of-view of any smartphone camera on the market right now — truly worthy of the ultra-wide title.

No official word on the Realme mobile price yet. Capturing shots this wide introduces a ‘fish eye’ effect into the images. So Realme has built a ‘Fisheye mode’ into the camera to offset the distortion. Lastly, the macro camera acts like a ‘microscope’ to magnify small details on closeups.

OPPO Find X3 featured a similar camera. Oppo claims it can shoot things that are invisible to the naked eye. But the one on Realme GT2 Pro is an upgraded version of this ‘micro-lens.’ It creates a better depth of field and can get you two times closer to those invisible details.
