In the fall of last year, Realme dropped their debut Android tablet titled the 'Realme Pad.' It's a value for money slate at an affordable realme mobile price tag that mainstream brands rarely offer. Following the Pad's popularity, Realme has introduced a sequel to this budget tablet. Meet the Realme Pad Mini.
The Realme Pad Mini falls into roughly the same price range as last year's model. But it's smaller and lags behind the competitive features its predecessor offered. For instance, the 8.7" LCD (down from 10.4") delivers only a 1340 x 800 resolution (instead of 1200 x 2000.) And while the original realme Pad was surrounded by a small, uniform bezel, the Realme Pad Mini has a weightier chin and top.
It's a similar story under the hood. The cell inside the Realme Pad Mini is 6400 mAh (trimmed from 7100 mAh.) It still fast-charges over 18W, however. Realme has also switched from a powerful MediaTek chip to obscure Unisoc silicon. The low-end chip is paired with 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB storage options. And the Realme UI x Android 11 powers the Realme Pad Mini.
The casing rocks a trendy design. Presumably crafted from aluminum, like the upcoming Realme 9 Pro Plus. The metal railings are flat and sharp. It's only 7.6mm thick, so the Realme Pad Mini should feel comfortable in your hand. You can choose from single-tone blue and gray finishes. The rear camera — housed inside a squarish module — is 8MP.
We find a mediocre 5MP camera on the front bezel. The Realme Pad Mini is already being rolled out in the Philippines, where it starts from PHP 9,990 (~ Rs. 35,600.)
