Realme wants to snag the record for the fastest-charging phone ever. There’s a rumor going around in China. It speaks of a 300W charging system designed by Realme. Of course, this isn’t the first time a Chinese company has tried it. But Realme is the closest it gets to a 300W wired charging phone.
As said before, Realme will not be the first to test 300W charging. Redmi already gave it a shot with their wired charging system that could fill up a 4,100mAh phone battery in under five minutes. And this was back in February 2023.
We haven’t seen any Redmi phone on retail that does 300W. So, it may be possible that the project went dormant. Realme’s trial run for this charging system seems optimistic. After all, this is the same company that managed to commercialize 240W fast charging.
If any brand can achieve these target speeds in a retail model, it’s Realme. And it could be a solid progression for future GT phones, from Realme GT 5 and GT Neo 5’s 240W fast charging kit. We’ll see soon what 300W implementation by Realme looks like.
After the GT 6 series launch, we now await the GT 7 clan. From the earliest rumors, the internet is pointing at an IP69 rating for the Realme GT 7 Pro. It is the holy grail of water and dust resistance in the smartphone industry. There’s also a possibility of an Ultrasonic fingerprint reader with the GT 7 Pro.
