Realme is gearing up to launch their entry-level Realme Q2 globally. It debuted in October in china as yet another budget 5G phone and is now ready to make it to the other parts of the world. The first stop is India while the launch in other Asian countries (including Pakistan) could follow soon.

Note that no official announcements have been made yet, but the Realme Q2, the cheapest 5G phone is now listed on the BIS database. You can find the certification document under the model number ‘RMX2117’.

Coming back to the phone itself, we’re looking at a predictable Realme design - a hole-punch on the front and a squared-off camera plate on the back. The plastic shell comes in blue and violet colors. A fast and reliable side-facing fingerprint scanner handles biometrics.

The 6.5-inch screen on Q2 is toughened with Gorilla Glass. And underneath it lies an IPS LCD, producing a 120Hz refresh rate and a full HD resolution. Realme new model 2020 has punched a hole in the screen to embed the front camera.

MediaTek’s Dimensity 800U chipset is at the heart of Realme Q2. It’s built on a 7nm fabrication process, featuring a 5G modem and high-performance cores clocked at 2.4GHz. Arm-designed GPU, Mali-G57 MC3, powers the graphics. The Q2 runs on a 5000 mAh battery, with 30W fast charging. The storage is UFS 2.1 128GB. And 4GB/6GB of memory does the multi-tasking.

On the back, you have three cameras. The standard one has a generic 48MP 1/2.0 inch sensor behind a 25mm wide lens with an aperture size of f/1.8. The ultra-wide camera uses an 8MP sensor and a 16mm wide-angle lens. It stretches the FoV by 119°. A low-res macro camera is also part of the setup. WhatMobile puts the expected price of Realme Q2 around Rs. 31,999.
