After a brief promo campaign on Chinese social media, Realme launched the Realme V15, codenamed, Realme Koi. It’s yet another entry in Realme’s value 5G catalog. Featuring a unique finish and upper-mid-range specs, here’s what Realme V15 offers.

We start with the phone’s finish that’s inspired by the Japanese ornamental fish, Koi. The sleek, bright, and glossy shell is available in blue, Koi, silver colors. It has two layers of texture and plates but weighs only 176g. Out on the front, the Realme V15 has a hole-punch and mid-weight bezels. The fingerprint scanner is integrated into the screen. But, the 3.5mm headphone jack is missing.

Inside Realme V15, Dimensity 800U 5G is crunching the numbers — a mid-range 5G chip from MediaTek. It’s hooked up to a 4310 mAh battery that fast charges over a blazing 50W. Realme promises a full charge in under 50 minutes. The realme UI 2.0 is still in beta, so the V15 is currently being shipped with realmeUI, based on Android10.

As for the screen specifications, we’re looking at a 6.4” AMOLED display. The display on Realme new model 2021 peaks at 1080P and 600 nits. The camera inside its hole-punch is 16MP with an unusually narrow f/2.5 aperture. Flip the Realme V15 over to find a 64MP primary sensor with a decent f/1.8 lens.

A wide-angle 8MP sensor with a 119˚ field-of-view and a 2MP macro camera join it. The image-processor supports night, ultra-clear, portrait, and electronic image stabilization modes. Plus, a whole lot of filters.

Realme ships the phone with 8GB/6GB of memory and 128GB of UFS 2.1, non-expandable storage. It’ll be hitting stores in China on January 14, but no word on its global launch yet. Realme V15 starts from CNY 1,499 (~ Rs. 37,000).
