Realme has its 5G-enabled handset – the Realme X50 5G in the works, and as per the official announcement, it’ll soon be unveiled in China. But prior to this launch, early renders of the X50 5G have been leaked online, which give us a sneak peek into the design of Realme’s first 5G offering. The leak also shows off a handful of hardware specifications.
First things first, design. The X50 display touts a pill-style cutout, housing a twin-selfie-camera setup, and an in-display fingerprint reader. The screen seems to be melting into the minimal bezels. As it has been typical of almost every major flagship release this year, the X50 appears to be another ‘glass slab.’ You’re looking at those familiar gradient hues on the back panel, alongside an equally played-out vertical camera setup.
The rear camera setup on Realme X50 features four lenses, the primary of which will be a 108-megapixel sensor, claims the source of the leak. Further, this 108-megapixel camera will be rounded off by a periscope lens (the kind we’ve seen on Oppo’s Reno lineup). While additional details about the optics package remain under the wraps, it’s safe to assume that the X50 5G will be Realme’s second flagship after Realme X2 Pro.
The source further detailed that a Snapdragon 765G will power the Realme X50 5G, alongside a beefy 12 GB + 128 GB memory configuration. Realme X50 5G is likely to debut with a ‘Lite’ variant, dubbed, Realme X50 Youth Edition, that will offer a more modest combination of RAM and storage at affordable realme prices. On the software side of things, these internals will run on Oppo’s Color OS 7-themed Android 10.
Since Realme hasn’t officially shared a launch schedule for this upcoming flagship, it’s difficult to predict when it will hit the store shelves. But if this source is anything to go by, Realme plans on launching the 5G-enabled handset in February 2020. The leaked render lines up perfectly with the official teaser promos, so it may very well be the case.
