Realme X50 5G Teased in Another Promo Poster, Will be Accompanied by Realme X50 Lite Youth Edition

As WhatMobile reported last month, Realme mobile is planning on unveiling its first 5G-enabled model on January 6th. And as the launch date draws near, Realme has published another teaser poster for Realme X50 5G through Weibo. The promo mockup offers us another glimpse into the design. And it also suggests that Realme X50 5G will bring the rumored Realme X50 Lite (Youth Edition) in tow.

The design of Realme X50 5G is nothing new under the sun. We’ve already seen the familiar pill-style cutout, thanks to a slew of leaks and official teaser posters. Inside the pill-shaped punch-hole sits the dual-selfie-camera set up at the top left corner.

The X50's IPS LCD display (a downgrade from the AMOLED screen, by the way), measures 6.6 inches. The side bezels are minimal, but the chin appears to be heavier than the forehead. Although it isn’t visible, previous teasers reveal that the power button will double as a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

The poster doesn’t showcase it, but the back panel sports a vertically-aligned quad-camera setup and a gradient hue. Now there’s no arguing that Realme has made its presence felt in the entry-level and mid-range bracket, but you’re looking at a somewhat cookie-cutter design, save for the placement of the fingerprint scanner.

But where Realme X50 5G lacks in design, it makes up for it with its top-notch hardware. With a Snapdragon 765G chipset, 8 GB of RAM, and ColorOS 7, you can expect this flagship to deliver some excellent performance. Other reports point to an improved 30W VOOC 4.0 flash charge that can charge your smartphone to 70 percent capacity in just 30 minutes.

Coming back to Realme X50 Lite Youth Edition. The model has been signed off by China’s CMIIT and as per the listing, this ‘Lite’ variant will have a 5G modem baked into it, but additional specification details are thin on the ground. That said, Realme’s CMO is already using Realme X50 Lite Youth Edition to post on his Weibo page, so it’ll definitely be making a debut on January 6th.
