Xiaomi Redmi 10C Officially Announced; A New Design and High-performance Snapdragon 680

Xiaomi followed up on last year's Redmi 10 with a new edition over the weekend, the Redmi 10C. The new phone made its debut in Nigeria, and it’s soon headed to other regions, including South Asia.

The official teasers are already up on Xiaomi’s social media. But the product listing has yet to go live. We’ll briefly review what the Xiaomi Redmi 10C has to offer. Xiaomi has redesigned the camera housing we saw last year.

The new camera island is more pronounced than ever. In addition to a lens and LED cluster, the housing also features an instant fingerprint scanner and the ‘Redmi’ branding. The casing mildly curves along the edges and comes in three single-tone frosted matte finishes: mint, blue, and graphite.

The screen is a large 6.71” panel with a notch bleeding into it. A 50MP wide shooter leads Redmi 10C’s dual camera. Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 engine does all the number-crunching inside the phone at a low-end Xiaomi mobile price tag. 4GB of memory covers all multitasking, and you can pick from 64GB and 128GB storage variants.

Other relevant details remain a mystery for now. But we should learn more once the phone is listed on the official website. Xiaomi also has the phone slated for launch on March 17 in India. The baseline model starts from NGN 78,000 (~ Rs. 33,000,) while the top-end version costs NGN 87,000 (~ Rs. 37,400.) It’s reportedly rolling out as the Redmi 10 2022 in Pakistan and India.
