Xiaomi introduced a host of new products at its launch event yesterday, including the Redmi 9A and Redmi 9C. They were announced last month, and the former also got launched locally yesterday and is now available in Pakistan at an attractive Xiaomi price tag, while the 9C went global. The duo offers entry-level features and exciting new designs.

Redmi 9A

The most pocket-friendly member of Xiaomi’s Redmi 9 series, the Redmi 9A sports a 6.53” drop-drop screen that produces an HD+ resolution. The bezels are uncharacteristically narrow for an entry-level model.

Around the back, there’s a decorative accent strip on (a by Redmi, stretching from the compact camera housing. The shell comes in Peacock Green, Granite Grey and Sky Blue — all editions polished and textured.

It uses a single 13MP camera on the back and a 5MP front cam for selfies. MediaTek’s Helio G25 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage, expandable up to 512GB with a microSD card make up the entry-level internals inside. The Redmi 9A's 5,000 mAh battery charges over a MicroUSB port and can last you up to two days of medium-to-heavy usage. And it starts from Rs. 14,599.

Redmi 9C

The Redmi 9C has a brighter, more expressive color palette. Available in Twilight Blue, Sunrise Orange, and Midnight Gray editions, it features a symmetric camera layout with a triple-camera array. A 13MP main camera, rounded off by a set of 2MP depth and macro sensors make up the system. The 5MP selfie camera is shared with the 9A edition.

Xiaomi Redmi 9C's display has the same dimensions and specifications as the 9A and a similar lightweight bezel profile. A more powerful MediaTek Helio G35 platform powers the device, however. It’s paired with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of storage.

A massive 5,000 mAh battery backs up this hardware. Xiaomi ships the 9C with MIUI 12 on board, based on Android 10 and it retails for €119 (~22,500 PKR).
