Redmi A5 Pakistani Launch Set for April 15th: Big Battery, Budget Deal

Xiaomi Redmi A5 4G is on its way to Pakistan next. The company has offical posted a teaser on social media confirming the device’s official debut in the country after four days. To be specific, we’ll see the device in our market on April 15th. Here’s what you need to know about Redmi A5.

It’s meant to be a budget daily driver with a special focus on display and endurance. Redmi A5 4G comes with an IPS 6.88” display. While it seems to be an ordinary notch-style screen, the company advertises 1500 nits of brightness here, not to forget the 120Hz peak refresh rate. The only caveat is the display’s 720p resolution.

The notch hides an 8 MP selfie unit on the front. The back camera is an ordinary 32 MP sensor, which records 1080p videos at 30 FPS. The inspiration for Redmi A5’s camera island is drawn from an iPhone 16, though it lacks a secondary camera unit. The hollow space under the primary lens is simply decorative.

The Internals are unimpressive. Redmi A5 4G uses a cheap 1.8GHz Unisoc T7250 (12 nm) SoC with up to 4GB RAM. To get around it, Xiaomi gave this device an Android 15 Go Edition OS, which is essentially a stripped-down version of the original Hyper OS to support minimal hardware — a compromise that aligns with typical Xiaomi phones price positioning.

At least Redmi promised long-term software support for the A5 handset. The brand commits to 2 years of OS updates, providing the new updates up to Android 17 in the future. It’s the first device from Redmi’s A series to have extensive software support.

Redmi A5 doesn’t skimp on battery endurance. This device has a 5200mAh battery inside for a full-day run. The company says that this power pack has 1000 Charge cycles, which will help maintain the phone’s battery health over several years of use.

The charging backup is limited to 18W, which means it will need to stay plugged in for more than two hours to reach 100%. This is similar to the Redmi A4, which also featured modest charging speeds in line with its budget positioning. Xiaomi has kept the pricing details to itself, but we’ll be able to share the info with our readers after the phone’s launch in the country on April 15th. Stay tuned.
