Design of The Honorable 8:
Huawei Honor 8 owns a glass-backed metal frame that is combined with 2.5D curved glass. Beveled edges with curved screen rolls down the sides to create a seamless sense of smoothness while swiping the screen from one side to the other. Operating the device with a single hand results in a lovely overall experience, full of refinement.
Huawei smart keys appear on one side of Honor 8 while the integrated fingerprint sensor on the back seems quite sensitive. Designated to perform some key functionalities, It provides an instant access to your favourite social apps depending on the presets.
EMUI 3.1 interface comes integrated with Android marshmallow operating system. Additionally some other intelligent features are also added such as motion control or calligraphy with knuckles. Overall the design of Honor 8 by Huawei becomes much more elegant with Honor logo at the front bottom just below the display instead of the 3 usual navigation keys. In fact, company’s logo appears on both front and back panels of the machine, which looks unique.
Performance of 8th Wonder:
Like Huawei Mate 8, Honor 8‘s also equipped with a Hisilicon Kirin 950 chip based on 16 nm processor with 4x 2.3GHz Cortex A72 processor and 4x 1.8GHz Cortex A53. Processor is combined together with 3 GB/4 GB of RAM that also plays an important role in multitasking. Graphics chip, Mali T880 is quite stable while running heavy applications or gaming.
With heavy gaming experience on your device or if you continuously use your phone for a long time you’ll feel that your device is heating up and that gives a quite uncomfortable feeling. Moreover, the ability to manage multi-tasking on the 4GB of RAM is not as good as we’ve expected. You can see more in the video above:
Camera of Huawei 8:
The brightest spot on the back of Huawei Honor 8 that we just cannot miss to mention is the dual camera cluster on its back, seems much similar to the Huawei P9. Honor’s 8 dual cameras on the back use the same Sony sensor, IMX 86 with 12 MP resolution. F/2.2 aperture helps to identify the remaining RGB colors. Installation of two sensors allow users to easily capture the depth of the field shots; auto-focus is also improved that comes really handy in low light conditions.
Conclusion:
By providing navigation keys on the side of the screen, Huawei’s Honor 8 inadvertently lost some display area but nevertheless, it still manages to carry a striking new design. The smartphone has an Aluminum finishing with improved handling. However, with a shiny glass-back, the device can get prone to the fingerprints, dirt and scratches.
