Unboxing of Huawei Nova Plus:
Huawei Nova Plus comes packed inside a big flat premium black box. device name is engraved on the lid in golden color. After a small recess Huawei smartphone is located along with a cardboard partition reserved for the Nova accessories. The compartment contains clip to extract the card tray, USB Type-C cable, power adapter plus branded headphones.
Appearance & Display:
On a very first look, Huawei Nova looks really noble apart from other Plus and minuses. The smartphone combines smooth lines, crispy sides and curved edges, simply taking a delicate design to the next level. Front panel is covered by a glass having curved edges, tightly assembled with aluminum that generates a sensation of reliability. Improved design now gets rid of the wider space around the screen edges. As Huawei is famous for its crystal clear wider displays, the Nova Plus also carries a big 5.5 inch IPS touchscreen supporting a 1080 x 1920 pixel display. The sensor detects up to ten simultaneous touches. Delicate display is protected further with curved glass to save it from scratches. Ultra high brightness now allows a better readability under intense daylight, plus it now contains a lot more than the usually needed contrast. Nova’s enhanced color saturation and improved viewing angles make it very comfortable to use.
The camera lens on the back panel extends out about a millimeter from the body while a square shaped fingerprint scanner is recessed below the camera. Huawei is engraved on the front just below the screen while interface controls appear on screen when you unlock the device.
Surprisingly, Huawei decides to retain the Type-C connectivity on Nova flagships and the same can be located in the center of the bottom end on Plus edition. Two speaker grills can also be found on each side of USB hole at the bottom.
Headphone jack is imposed at the upper end of Nova’s Plus edition.
Tray card can be ejected easily from the left side with help of a special clip provided in the box. You have the option to use two Nano-SIM cards or either a Nano SIM card along with a memory card. The power button and volume rockers are mounted on the top right side.
Camera of Huawei Plus:
Nova Plus by Huawei received a 16 MP camera with all latest shooting mode specialties. In addition to the standard HDR and panorama focus, a fully professional LED light is also mounted on the back to help you shoot images on a tripod in the dark. However, pictures taken in the default auto mode are much sharper and clearer. The camera transmits perfect colors while shooting outdoor images. shockingly the Indoor result is not as good as we were expecting. Selfies on Huawei Nova’s Plus turn out to be quite bright and the result is much better as compare to other models of same price range. Just like its back camera, Ultra-low aperture of the front sensor blurs the background almost beyond recognition.
Hardware of Huawei Nova:
Huawei’s Nova Plus is not a very high end device yet still manages to pack some top notch specs. The chassis of the Huawei comes equipped with a Powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 MSM8953 chipset on top of an Octa-core processor, ticking at the speed of 2 GHz. 3 GB of enormous RAM is more than enough for the Nova to perform quick actions while working with same old Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Emotion UI that most of Huawei’s devices carry. Internal storage is of 32GB which is enough to store just about anything for a normal smartphone user. Blisteringly powerful 14nm processing on Nova Plus allows you to comfortably carry out routine tasks. Processing needs battery juice so a massive 2 days battery backup at routine usage delivers an uncompromised overall package.
Conclusion:
Nova Plus’s gorgeous screen and solid metal design continues the tradition of Huawei’s best work. The phone is perfect in terms of design and looks, though some can get upset by the hybrid SIM-Tray slot. A powerful processor with the best optimization software now provides optimum speeds while playing the games but excessive gaming does result in heating up of the device. Apart from that, Plus edition of Nova series offers more than you could handle. A great camera result is also worth to mention along with a responsive fingerprint sensor added on the back.
