The company’s much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy A05 and Galaxy A05s are finally out. Malaysia gets the first dibs, with both phones now listed on Samsung’s microsite in the region. Yet, their prices remain a mystery. While snippets of information have been leaking for some time, we finally have comprehensive official stats to discuss.
In terms of aesthetics, the A05 shines in Black, Light Green, and Silver, whereas its sibling, the A05s, sticks to just Black and Light Green. As for the real distinguisher, the A05s houses a triple camera setup, adding an edge over the A05's dual-lens arrangement.
Under the hood, there's also a distinction in power. The A05s opts for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, while the A05 sports the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset. Both have astonishing capabilities, but the Snapdragon 680 punches harder in every benchmark.
Storage isn't an issue for either. Both Samsung budget new models grace Malaysia's market with a 6/128GB configuration. Display enthusiasts will immediately notice the A05’s sub-standard 6.7-inch HD+ screen, while the A05s escalates to FHD+ resolution, promising crisp visuals.
Camera-wise, both devices boast a 50MP primary shooter with an additional 2MP depth sensor. But the A05s sneaks in an extra 2MP macro lens, making it slightly superior for close-ups. Energizing these devices are substantial 5,000mAh cells equipped with 25W fast charging.
The newcomers debut with the latest Android 13 x One UI 5 and are due to receive further software enhancements down the road. Global release dates remain hazy, but one thing's clear: with its added specs, the A05s will likely command a higher price.
