Samsung Galaxy A06 Approved for Launch by the Malaysian Authority, SIRIM

There’s little talk about Samsung’s Galaxy A06, but we have no doubt it’s in R&D. As we speak, the phone is already one step closer to launch. SIRIM certified the A06 moments ago and gave us a solid lead into its global rollout. Here are the details we know so far.

SIRIM is the Malaysian watchdog over all telecom products. Approval from SIRIM means Malaysia will be one of the first regions to receive Galaxy A06. There wasn’t much in the way of specs on the listing. But, the model number ‘SM-A065F/DS’ led us to other certifications.

FCC has the same phone listed in their database, and they comment on its connectivity options. A06 will be a dual-SIM model. Standard options may include Dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth. This phone won’t have 5G, only 4G bands.

Geekbench is the other platform where we found Samsung's latest budget handset. They tested it and shared the results in one of their listings. MediaTek Helio G85 is the engine pulling its weight. Android 14 will be the default OS. And there will be 4GB RAM on the base Galaxy A06 variant.

Like it always is, Galaxy A06 seems more oriented toward the budget market. Geekbench tested it on version 4.0, so the scores here are generous at best. There are 1644 points on single core and 5326 points on multi-core test runs. Rumors suggest there may be a 6 GB option with slightly better scores.
