Galaxy A06 debuted a while ago. It’s even available in Pakistan with a base 64GB variant at Rs 25,500. But, as you might already know, this phone is limited to 4G connectivity with a Helio G85 chip and LTE bands. So, in typical Samsung fashion, Galaxy A06 will soon get an upgrade to 5G support.
Geekbench updated its database last night with a new Dimensity 6300 version of the Galaxy A06. The model code assigned to the variant is SM-A066B, as you can see on top of the scoresheet. D6300 chip adds 5G connectivity to this phone and even bumps the GPU and CPU power.
Let’s see those benchmark scores first. Its single-core test on Geekbench yields 731 scores (to be expected with a device running MTK D6300). Multicore scores in the same SoC reached 1816 points, which pulls its rank close to Helio G99’s performance. It’s essentially an entry-level chip. That’s that about the processor.
About its RAM: Geekbench 6 tested the option with only 4GB memory (probably the base configuration). Of course, the possibilities are open for more or less in the RAM department. That and the latest Android 15 operating system are also on their way with One UI 7 skin.
Galaxy A06 5G also made it to WiFi Alliance’s database, listed under the same model code. Per the leaks, we ascertain most of the 5G phone’s specs are comparable to the original. You might see a 6.7” HD+ LCD with a bog-standard 60Hz refresh rate and a 50MP main camera. We’ll know more about the phone in leaks, as it starts heading toward the launch.
