Samsung Galaxy A06 Unveiled; Android 14, Helio G85, and Smoother 90Hz Display

Out comes the Samsung Galaxy A06 in Vietnam. And surely soon, more markets will see this phone on their doorsteps. Galaxy A06 itself isn’t that exciting. After all, very little has changed compared to the last generation. But it does mark the beginning of an entirely new Galaxy A series. So, this is a brief look into its features.

Let’s talk about the upgrades first. You should note that the Galaxy A06 shifts to a far better refresh rate than before. The panel is now 90Hz with the same 6.67” LCD and HD+ resolution. There’s a U-notch on the top doing selfies at 8 MP. Chunky bezels and the chin are still there.

Galaxy A05 didn’t have a fingerprint reader. So, it was less secure. The newer Galaxy A06 has one on the right side, embedded into the power key. Also, it has switched to Android 14 as the home default OS. They promise the phone will keep hitting updates till Android 16 in 2026.

We didn’t find any other worthwhile change. Galaxy A06 puts a 50 MP rear camera to work for images. And there’s a 2 MP depth mapper for assistance. Helio G85 pulls the hard labor here with only 2.0GHz max clock speed. The base RAM and the storage values are 4 GB and 64 GB on Samsung's upcoming 4G mobile.

As for the little surface-level changes, they at least refreshed the build with the ‘Key Island’ design to make it memorable. A 5000mAh cell at its core keeps the A06 powered, and 25W fast charging gives backup. Galaxy A06 won’t go on sale in Vietnam until August 22nd, but they have announced its starting price to be $127 (~PKR 35,000).
