Following a handful of leaks, the follow up to last year's Galaxy A10 -- the Galaxy A11, has now gone official. Samsung didn't hold a launch event but the official page for the smartphone is now live on its Mobile Press, detailing the company’s cheapest model for 2020 expected at a pocket-friendly Samsung price.
You’re looking at a triple-camera setup on the back of Samsung Galaxy A11 and a punch-hole selfie shooter on the front. The 6.4-inch Infinity-O panel houses the punch-hole in the top-left corner and produces an HD+ resolution. The front-facing camera has a modest 8MP sensor behind it. As for the dimensions, the phone is 161.4 x 76.3 x 8.0 mm and weighs 177g.
The rear-facing panel on Samsung Galaxy A11 is your standard polycarbonate build, with the camera housing mounted on the left, flanked by a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The main camera is still a 13MP module but is paired with a 5MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP depth-assist unit. It’s a welcome upgrade from last year’s single-camera optics that the Galaxy A10 featured.
The plain matte design language feels out of place in 2020 (not unlike Galaxy A10’s) but the edges are chamfered for a more ergonomic grip. The side-bezels have been pushed back, but the chin is noticeably heavier than the forehead. It comes in Black, White, Blue, Red colors.
An unnamed in chipset with an octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz, powers this entry-level model. Samsung has combined this hardware with 32GB of storage and 2GB/3GB of memory (expandable up to 512GB with a microSD card.) The internals draw power from an upgraded 4,000 mAh cell and with this annual iteration you also get support for 15W fast charging.
The phone maker has published a partial spec sheet and press renders for the device but hasn’t shared the release schedule or the Samsung prices. WhatMobile expects it to start from 24,999 PKR.
