Samsung Galaxy A13 4G & 5G Grab the Latest February 2025 Security Update

Usama Rasool

It looks like Samsung has finally decided to update the old Samsung Galaxy A13 with the February 2025 patch. We believe this is the first of only four security fixes the phone will get this year since it’s on a quarterly update schedule. We’d also like to add that the update has reached not only the phone’s 5G version but also the A13 4G, which was released back in 2023.

From what we’ve gathered so far, this update has only reached the carrier-locked A13 and A13 5G devices in the USA and the European market, though the possibility for expansion can’t be denied. Of course, this update will start circulating in even more regions soon, Pakistan being one of them. It’s only a matter of time.

As far as the contents of the update go, the February patch is a pretty standard affair, fixing the exploits in both the core system and the One UI layer we have on top. There seem to be no performance optimizations or bug fixes. It wasn’t said in the Changelogs but we suspect it follows the general patch library we find on other Galaxy devices getting the February update.

This update will fix your Galaxy A13 with over three dozen high-risk exploit patches deployed for Google’s core Android system, one of which has been marked critical by Samsung. The company itself isn’t in the clear, since the One UI also got the well-needed seven security patches generally affecting the latest Samsung budget mobiles.

If you happen to look at the changelog while updating, the A13 and A13 5G are given the new firmware with codes “A135USQSBEYA1” and “A136BXXSADYB1.” They might vary ever so slightly from region to region, but the codes should look similar to the ones we shared. We are confident that the update shall reach Pakistani A13 4G devices any day now.

When the February 2025 patch arrives in Pakistan, we advise you to quickly update the system by following these few quick steps. Check for Updates on the Samsung A16 predecessor aka the Galaxy A13, if your phone hasn’t done that already. Head to the Settings >> Software Updates >> and tap Check for Update.

For some of you, when the update is detected by your phone automatically, it will send you an alert. You tap on the message that sends you straight to the update page, so you can “Download and Install” the February patch. A quick reboot after the process shall update your A13 with the new firmware.
