Last year, Samsung went on record to say that it will overhaul the entire Galaxy A series with 5G by 2021. And keeping that promise, the Korean phone maker is now bringing the 5G experience to the low-end of the latest Galaxy A lineup. Rumors surrounding the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G have been floating around since August, but the first concrete leak now comes from a European publication.
GalaxyClub.nl, which has a long record of Samsung-related leaks, didn’t have early product images to reveal, but their sources have dug up a few system specs of the new Samsung Galaxy A12 successor. The A13 5G title belongs to the model ‘SM136B.’
50MP cameras are rare in Samsung’s catalog of smartphones. But evidently, Samsung is switching to higher-res sensors in their cheaper phones to get an edge over the competition.
No word on the Samsung mobile price tag yet as the launch is pretty much far away. After the Galaxy A73, which is rumored to use an OIS-assisted 108MP lens, the Galaxy A13 5G will also feature a Samsung-made 50MP camera sensor, the ISOCELL JN1, to be precise. It’s the same camera you will find on the new Redmi 10 series.
The battery size hasn’t changed from last year’s model. Samsung Galaxy A13 5G rocks a 5000 mAh cell — par for course with a modern budget phone. No charging details were uncovered, but we should hear more specs in the weeks that follow. Speculation puts its announcement timeline within 2021. But it may not be released until 2021.
