With 2022 at the close, Samsung Galaxy A14 5G becomes the chain's first A-smartphone of 2023. In Las Vegas, Samsung has unveiled A14 as the successor to 2021's Galaxy A13 5G, though the fanfare was not as much as we'd expected. The device had leaked numerous times, and it appears the speculations were on point.
Galaxy A14 5G has launched with a 6.6-inch Full HD+ panel and a 90Hz refresh rate. In place of the low-end MediaTek chip on Galaxy A13 5G, the new Galaxy A-mobile has an Exynos powered 1330 SoC. Its display boasts ~80% screen-to-body ratio and holds 399 PPI.
By all appearances, the newcomer appears similar to what we have seen in render leaks. Chamfered edges, flat screen, rounded drop-notch, and directly protruded lenses. As expected, it has discarded the 4th depth camera unit since it now has an improved 50MP camera that can map depth independently.
Besides the new 13MP front-facing camera, A14 5G maintains the same 2 + 2MP auxiliary sensor system as A13 5G. Since the new entrant to the Samsung price list is an entry-tier contender, it features the same photography experience as its predecessor, except for the new camera features introduced on Android 13 x OneUI 5.
With OneUI 5.0 pre-installed, A14 is officially the first Samsung phone to boast Android 13 right out of the box. In essential specs, it has a 3.5mm audio port, Type-C support, an SD card slot, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and a 5000mAh juicer. In shades of black, silver, dark red, and light green, the phone's base variant starts at 229 euros or ~PKR 55,000. Its 4G antecedent is available in the Pakistani market, Samsung Galaxy A13 4G's current price in Pakistan is Rs. 43,999.
