Samsung Galaxy A16 4G & 5G Clear More Certifications and Reveal 25W Charging

Samsung already kicked off this year’s budget A series when they released the Galaxy A06 a month ago, and it’s pretty obvious what will come next. They have plans to make the debut of Galaxy A16 soon, and like before, there’s a possibility of it coming in 4G and 5G.

We’ve been tracking it. Galaxy A06 rushing from one certifier to the next is surefire proof that it’s in the works, and now that it has made a cameo on FCC and TUV Rheinland, we can tell you even more about it. FCC called out A16 4G with the serial code SM-A165M/DS or dual SIM.

Not all the details here were mention-worthy, so we’ll just stick to the juicy stuff like its official charging speeds or maybe some essentials. A16 4G has LTE bands, and they even gave it NFC support here for contactless transactions, but what about its charging speeds?

FCC did expose the model code for Samsung’s latest 5G phone charger ‘EP-TA800’ and the data cable ‘EP-DN980’ and we backtracked both via TUV Rheinland to confirm that this will be a 25W supported phone. It’s the same deal for Galaxy A16 5G: 25W charging, Bluetooth, dual-band WiFi, etc.

Of course, A16 5G will be better at surfing the web because of the 5G bands, but in those 4G prevalent areas, both A16s will be equal. TUV Rheinland pointed out that a 4860 mAh rated cell exists inside Galaxy A16 5G; Samsung might represent it as a typical 5000mAh battery when it comes out.
