It’s already obvious from all the design leaks and renders that the ‘Key Island’ will be present in the next Galaxy A16 5G phone, but one thing that we could never have guessed is the update boost they have planned for it. Here’s what we mean by that.
TheTechOutlook somehow sourced the marketing material for Galaxy A16 5G and it had plenty of info about its specs, design, colors, you name it. The one detail that shocked us was the 6x OS and 6x Security update promise because we couldn’t imagine these numbers outside their flagship category.
If the Galaxy A16 5G starts at Android 15, it might keep seeing updates till Android 21, and these numbers are mind-bending if true. Remember, the A16 5G is an entry-tier phone and most other brands in this segment can’t even offer 2-year OS upgrades, but Samsung might pull this off.
One of the other details that the marketing material spilled was Samsung's budget latest mobile’s slimmer design at 7.9mm, fat better than the chunky A15 5G at 8.4mm, plus there will be three colors in Green, Black, and the new Gold. Galaxy A16 5G is a 6.7” flat IPS U-notch device that will refresh at 90Hz.
There are two possible chip combinations for it and one will be an MTK platform Dimensity 6300, but the other is an Exynos 1330 5nm 2.4 GHz. These images also verify that an IP54 rating is present on A16. It was missing last time on Galaxy A15 5G.
