We spot Galaxy A16 in yet another leak, after the whole pricing spill on the web, but this one is specifically about its spec sheet, and by far, this is the most viable info we have about it. There’s a European retailer whose early and unofficial listing for the A16 gave up every single one of its specs pre-launch.
SamInsider is the one who first published about this leak and by the time you read this, Samsung’s probably taken that listing down. But it’s too late and the screenshots SamInsider took of the A16 listing are already out in the wild, and there’s no stopping the leak train now.
So what are we looking at with this Galaxy A16? There’s not a single upgrade in sight for the camera or power; just like the last time with A15, all you would see is a 5000 mAh cell x 25W charger. And those cameras are 50 MP main + 5 MP ultrawide + 2 MP macro + 13 MP selfie.
They did not dump the A16’s notch, so it remains a big intrusion on that 6.7” AMOLED panel, but it’s good that they shrink bezels by a little, make the A16 slim at 7.9mm, and give it an IP54 rating. But this AMOLED is still 90Hz and FHD 1080p, so nothing has changed for the better, at least display-wise.
There’s NFC and BT 5.3 on both 4G and 5G Galaxy A16, but for obvious reasons, they assign Helio G99 to the 4G one, and A16 5G will put an Exynos 1330 to use. They will each get at least 6-year OS upgrades, but there’s no telling how well these phones can manage in the future runs when all you have is 4 GB RAM or 128 GB storage.
